The Vision
It happen approximately 10 years after the account. One night I was watching a televised program when the question was asked “Does God still perform miracles today as He did in the bible days?” As I thought of the question, I felt that much more was being asked than what was stated. I drew the conclusion that the question that was really being asked was “does God still do those things that defy human logic and understanding” like He demonstrated in the bible days. To be healed of cancer, which I recently have been as of March 2008, could be attributed to human intervention. Someone getting approval for a home or auto loan when their financial status is not favorable can be credited to a man made decision. The parting of the red sea or the Israelites having a cloud cover them by day and a pillar of fire to illuminate their way at night defies human logic and reasoning.
As I thought of my own experience, I was compelled to share my miracles. When asked how many mines did we walk through, to have an ordinance officer pour table salt into the palm of his hand and throw it on a table as a depiction of what we encountered is grounds enough to express my experience for the purpose of exercising ones reasoning. Why would he (the officer) do that? Why did he say it was so many mines that they stopped the search, sealed off a radius and deemed the area unsafe to travel? Why didn’t any of the mines detonate? With so many land mines present, were they all defective? Why was I allowed to transition through heavily infested mine fields on multiple occasions without harm?
I challenge anyone to place these encounters in a category that can be credited to human intervention. Therefore, by my own experience alone I boldly proclaim, the answer is “YES.” God does work miracles today like He did in the bible days.
